Guys Night Out for March Madness

Bring on the Madness! Once again, the CAI Men's Club treks up Route 10 West to Miami Mike's Sports Zone for the first night of NCAA Tourney action! Thursday night, March 15, we'll assemble at this most awesome of East Hanover Sports Bars to dine, drink and root on our favorite teams...and those that we had moving on in our brackets. We gather at 7 pm.

Guys Night Out a Blast on March 18

Ohio's upset of Georgetown was the highlight on the big screen. In the bar, it was the 22 CAI Men's Club members enjoying a night of great food, drink, and of course, college basketball at Miami Mike's in East Hanover. Held on Thursday night, March 24 to watch the first night of NCAA Tourney action, Guys Night Out for March Madness is one of those winning events that we've sponsored four years running.

Agudath Israel had a basketball celebration of its own, honoring members of the 2009-10 team that returned to the playoffs after a winless 2008-2009. Team members in attendance included Israel Mazjner, Greg Adelsberg, Steve Eitman, Adam Shandler and Marc Weinstein.

The Men's Club would like to thank all the guys who came out for the event, with special kudos to Larry Dodyk, pictured with Miami Mike, for his tremendous organization.

The Men's Club will be hosting one of its most enjoyed annual events on Thursday night, March 18th at 7 pm. Come to Miami Mike's at the Ramada Inn on Route 10 West in East Hanover for "Guys Night Out for March Madness!" Watch the first night of NCAA action with a great group of guys, help the CAI basketball team celebrate a great year in the JCC Temple League and enjoy some great food and drink -- courtesy of the Men's Club! There is no cover for this event. Just show up and have a great time.

NCAA Guys Night Out

The CAI Men's Club knows how to do March Madness.

For the third straight year, members of Men's Club took up their usual table at Miami Mike's Sports Zone in East Hanover and enjoyed the first night of NCAA Tournament Action. The action commenced at 7 p.m. on Thursday night, March 19th.

In addition to a great night out with terrific guys, fun food and refreshing drinks, we were treated to some of the best games of the tournament so far. The most notable contest featured American testing Villanova. Our own VP Marty Schenker, an American U. alumnus, (pictured with Jay Baranker) sweated it out while his Eagles built a 14 point lead over Nova, only to succumb to the more experienced and physical Big East team.

Also in action were Gonzaga and Akron. The #13 seeded Zips, representing the MAC, dominated most of the game but a late run and a worn-out Akron squad secured a Zags win. One of the tighter match-ups squared Michigan against Clemson, in which the Wolverines squeaked it out, and Texas pulled away from a pesky Minnesota team to advance to Round 2.

Those in attendance agreed that the night was great fun, and that you couldn't have picked better games to watch. The event was only enhanced by the atmosphere at Miami Mike's. "Mike always takes care of us," said Men's Club President Adam Shandler. "He has a real knack for hospitality and for making us feel like number one. We're looking forward to having future programming at Mike's."

Guys Night Out for the NCAA Tournament - March 19

All this BracketBuster action this weekend is getting the Men's Club excited about our upcoming Guys Night Out event on Thursday, March 19th. This event, now in its third year, brings male CAI members together to watch the first night of NCAA Basketball Tournament games over bar food and beer. (Both are courtesy of the Men's Club and there is no cover fee for this event.)

Join us at 7 pm at Miami Mike's Sports Zone on Route 10 West in East Hanover. This is the sports bar located at the Ramada Inn. Historically, this has been a great way for both new and engaged members of Agudath Israel to get to know one another and share their passion for college hoops.
